Erasmus students studying at our University within the scope of Erasmus Learning Mobility took some time off from classes and visited Nevşehir, Cappadocia on 15-17 November 2020.
Erasmus students from Spain, N. Macedonia, and Germany participated in the trip organized to share the geographical and cultural richness of different regions of Turkey as part of Erasmus Days. Oğuzhan Abacı guided the trip to the Cappadocia region, known as the land of beautiful horses, touring important settlements such as the Earth Pyramids of Uçhisar, Göreme Open-Air Museum, Nar Crater Lake, Ihlara Canyon, and Avanos, sharing detailed information about the geographical, historical, and cultural background of the region. The visit to the earth pyramids attracted special attention from our Architecture Students owing to the houses and churches carved into the stone.
After experiencing the unique geography of Cappadocia as well as the Turkish cuisine and the hospitality of the local people, the Students returned to Istanbul with good memories and plenty of photos.
